Choose Your Own Adventure

Do you love Choose Your Own Adventure books? Well I do! And I'm making a Choose Your Adventure Game in Code Academy. It's based off of Pokémon. I actually just finished it though but it was really fun to make. I had one of my classmates try it out and they put in 'Your Mom' instead of Charmander, Bulbasaur or Squirtle. It then said that she burned their legs off. It was hilarious. Well, thats all about that.

I recently had an idea for my game. I have started making a new character for my game. His name is Dave. He has really skinny arms and legs as well as long, flowing, blonde hair. It's kinda like Alolan Dugtrio from Pokémon. (#spoilers) Anyways, he is beautiful. He even has a beautiful death animation. On the topic of sprites for my game, someone in my class has added Albert (Yes. I have named my main character Albert) into her Genius Hour Project. Her project is making a Story Mode on Scratch. Her username is SpectralHeart. She already has the trailer done (which I voice acted in) and she's working on the full thing now. You should watch the trailer. Its awesome I ant wait for the full thing!

I really haven't really done anything else this week. So, I guess this is the end of this post. I'll be posting next week. See ya!

Fifty Percent

FINALLY! Finally, I am 50% through learning JavaScript. YAY! I just finished making a code that tells you if you have slain a dragon or if the dragon has burned you. It's really cool! Now, I'm about to learn about control flow in JavaScript. Sounds interesting. I'm excited! After 1 and a half months of me getting my Genius Hour Project, I am 50% through learning JavaScript. Soon, i'll be making my own game. And anyone and everyone will be able to play and enjoy! (Hopefully)

Right now, I'm learning about switches. I think its awesome. I could really help me in my game. A switch is where JavaScript choose a different outcome depending on the input. For example, the input could be Hi and JavaScript would say Hi back. But, if the input is Bye, It would say Bye instead. I'm definitely using that for my game. I've also been thinking about switching to 3D for my game. But I know that it would be more of a challenge but I think i'm up for it.

I haven't really done anything else this week so I guess this is the end of this post. Cya!

Unity 2D

Hey! So recently my friend in my class showed me this website for making 2D games. Yes, my game is going to be 2D. It's called Unity 2D. It has a bunch of videos about making a 2D game. It tells you about sprites, animations, physics and all kinds of stuff like that. It's really cool. I'm thinking of using it as well as Code Academy for my game. Im still going to use Code academy to learn how to use JavaScript but I'm also going to use Unity 2D to help me make the graphics for my game and stuff like that.

I've also just finished for loops in Code Academy. Now, I'm learning about while loops. I'm expecting that this will be a lot more fun mostly because Code Academy said that it is a lot easier, and I'm happy about that. Also, I'm apparently 37% through learning JavaScript. I think thats a good rate for only doing this for about a month. I actually have been stuck on a few courses on Code Academy but I finally finished them.

So, that's basically all I've done for this week, I've found a new website, I've worked on new sprites for my game, and I'm doing great on code Academy. Well I guess thats the end of this post. See ya!

Code Academy

Hi. For the past week, I've been on the website Code Academy. The reason I'm on Code Academy is because I dont know how to code. And, Code Academy teaches you how to code. The language I'm learning is JavaScript. I'm going to make a game with it as you probably already know. So far, I've learned about functions, booleans, variables, strings, arrays, for loops, and I'm about to learn about finding specific information in a list of words.

I have also been working on some art for my game. I've done most of my main character, but I still have yet to name him. I've actually made a survey to ask my classmates what the name should be. So far, I'm considering some names right now but there is still time for my classmates to submit names. So that doesn't mean the names I chose are the final names.

It looks like that at this rate, I will be done learning how to code in no time. Then, Ill be able to make a game to show to the world. I'll be making new surveys soon for the enemy names. Finally, get subscribed to this blog to get notified every time I post. See you next time!
